About Dr. Philip
Joshua Philip, PhD (he/him/his) is a licensed psychologist offering both in-person and telehealth services. He is authorized to provide virtual therapy in 42 states through PSYPACT.
Education and Training
Dr. Philip earned his doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University and completed his doctoral internship at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.
His clinical experiences include counseling in community mental health clinics and university counseling centers, conducting psychological assessments, managing and intervening in crises, and working with children and adolescents in middle and high school settings.
Therapeutic Approach
Dr. Philip primarily utilizes existential and humanistic approaches, emphasizing the importance of personal meaning, individual freedom, potential for growth, and an ever-expanding view of the world. He often employs person-centered therapy, a humanistic approach focused on creating a non-judgmental, empathetic, and accepting environment. Dr. Philip adapts his approach to meet the unique needs of each client, recognizing the distinct nature of every individual’s journey. He strives to co-create a collaborative relationship with his clients, built on empathy, trust, vulnerability, and safety. This partnership promotes healing and self-understanding.
