About Jesse
Jesse Urbina is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate at Dallas Therapy Associates. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in Professional Counseling at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. His experiences in counseling include working at the SFASU counseling services center and at a Hispanic-based private practice in Dallas, Texas where he worked with children at a local elementary school and adults/young adults at a public clinic.
Jesse’s focus in counseling revolves around understanding the client’s intersectionality and meeting them in the present moment. Jesse’s clinical modality is based on person-centered, narrative, and cognitive behavioral therapy. This means that he assists clients in finding answers within themselves and reprocessing/reframing negative cognitions while exploring the intricacies of their lives.
Jesse’s clinical focuses include working with stress, anxiety, depression, deep rooted trauma, PTSD, and life transition. He also enjoys working with issues related to identity and men’s mental health. He has a passion for working with the Latino and Hispanic community to help navigate cultural differences and familial dynamics. He is here to offer support and understanding to those who have experienced resource and language barriers. He is fluent in English and Spanish with a focus on learning American Sign Language so that he can include it in his future clinical skills. He plans to further expand his range so everyone may have a positive experience in therapy.
Jesse is currently accepting new adult clients at the Dallas location. To schedule an in-person or virtual appointment with her, please email jurbina@DTAcare.com.
